Back in December of 2011, when I was knocking on doors of book publishers for my Buy Books venture, I came into contact with a “mind and body” niche market publisher Beyond Words. At that time, they expressed interest in a partnership with me to develop a smartphone app for one of their Tarot Deck products aimed at the female teenager demographic.
Near the end of February 2012, Beyond Words contacted me to share more concrete plans to move ahead on the project. Since then, I have focused the majority of my time on designing and developing my Tarot App which is now at the stage of being ready for review and testing in preparation for launching the app in the Google Play and Apple App Store marketplaces.
Along the way, I got to explore the world of Tarot cards and talked with people who do Tarot readings. My smartphone programming skills were further developed and exercised. I purchased Apple equipment in order to allow development and testing of my app for iOS devices - the iPhone and iPad.
Presently, there are two streams of activities that I am pursuing:
- Through Beyond Words, sign a partnership deal with Simon & Shuster who owns the copyright for the Tarot deck content.
- Seek other Tarot decks to incorporate into my Tarot App for additional opportunities.
See my Tarot Lovers App blog entry for an example of a completed app involving collaboration between igtsoft.com and Paranormality.com.
Here is a page on the Tarot App.
The graphic is only for illustration. A suitable cover image would be used for each Tarot deck.
